Why Exercise and What Is Your Motivation
DO YOU EXERCISE FOR YOURSELF OR OTHERS
How many people are motivated to exercise because they just split up with their boyfriend, girlfriend, or spouse? Probably a lot based on my experience with new clients motivation for training. Anything that get’s you going is ok with me, but don’t stop because you either found a new “temporary” mate or went back with the former one.
I you workout to hang on to a spouse or mate, then your motivation to exercise is not based on self-improvement.
Your motivation is based on improving for someone else and that reason means you
do not care about your own body or health and in the long run, a good mate will want you to care about yourself. Usually people who exercise seem to find an opposite sex partner that enjoys working out also.
I have run across the same situation teaching Martial Arts. Someone just had a physical alteration with another person and now wants to learn self-defense. Once the scare is over, the training stops.
The point of my article is to exercise and take care of your body and mind for yourself. If you take care of you for you, then number one will always feel good about themselves and will always be ready for anything with a strong body and mind. Reacting to other person’s feelings about you or whether your wife or girlfriend just dumped you is a weak reason to temporarily take care of yourself. Be educated about exercise so you know how to accomplish results and not get discouraged. Or hire the right personal trainer to help you get started on a healthier way of life.
